Galatasaray Coach Okan Buruk Raises Concerns Over Super Lig Scheduling

Fixture Congestion Before European Clash Creates "Big Question Mark"

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has publicly questioned the Turkish Football Federation's scheduling decisions ahead of his team's critical UEFA Champions League playoff match. The coach highlighted a significant disparity in rest days between his squad and their domestic rivals, creating what he called a "very big question mark."

Disparity in Match Days Creates Unfair Advantage

The core of the scheduling controversy revolves around the preparation time for different clubs. While Trabzonspor is set to play their league match on Wednesday and Başakşehir on Monday, Galatasaray is scheduled to play on Thursday and Sunday. This arrangement gives their rivals more recovery time before the next fixtures.

Coach Seeks Clarification, Not Conflict

Buruk was careful to state that he is not looking for "ill intent," but he firmly believes the situation requires explanation. "I don't want to be misunderstood," he said, "but this is a very big question mark. We would be happy if they clarify the situation for us and change the match day." He also confirmed that fellow club Başakşehir has a similar request regarding the fixture adjustments.

    • Trabzonspor's Match: Scheduled for Wednesday.

    • Başakşehir's Match: Scheduled for Monday.

    • Galatasaray's Matches: Scheduled for Thursday and Sunday.
